We\u2019ve been there. It\u2019s boring, it\u2019s frustrating, it\u2019s mind-boggling. And yet, research shows that it\u2019s really good for us.<\/p><p>Mindfulness helps to train our attention, increase self-awareness, regulate emotions, and lower anxiety and impulsivity.<\/p><p>Mindfulness is the simple practice of \u201cstaying in the present moment\u201d by focusing on our breath, sensations or sounds. Whenever we notice that our mind has wandered, we bring our attention back to the breath and repeat. I call it \u201cbicep-curls for the brain.\u201d<\/p><p>Have you ever tried to meditate but couldn\u2019t stick to it? Have you been frustrated by your wandering mind? Have you ever fidgeted nervously and given up after a couple of tries?
