We know how hard it is for ADHDers to meditate. We’ve been there. It’s boring, it’s frustrating, it’s mind-boggling. And yet, research shows that it’s really good for us.

Mindfulness helps to train our attention, increase self-awareness, regulate emotions, and lower anxiety and impulsivity.

Mindfulness is the simple practice of “staying in the present moment” by focusing on our breath, sensations or sounds. Whenever we notice that our mind has wandered, we bring our attention back to the breath and repeat. I call it “bicep-curls for the brain.”

Have you ever tried to meditate but couldn’t stick to it? Have you been frustrated by your wandering mind? Have you ever fidgeted nervously and given up after a couple of tries? Don’t worry, you’re not alone.

Building the habit is the hardest part – but we are here to help.

Our group offers structure, accountability, and encouragement to help you establish this life-changing habit. We explore ADHD-friendly ways to practice and support you through the rough beginnings.

We got you.

There are many great resources available to practice mindfulness, including books, videos, and meditation apps, and we encourage you to experiment and see what works best for you.

In this group, we mainly use the Waking Up app created by neuroscientist and philosopher Sam Harris.

We listen to a selection of 10-minute guided meditations from respected word-class teachers and explore additional content in the app that is particularly relevant and helpful for ADHDers.

After the meditation practice we discuss our experiences and share our struggles and successes. This is where the power of community lies.

You don’t have to subscribe to Waking Up to attend this group, but if you would like to try it on your own, here’s a link for a free one-month subscription.

Join us on Saturdays. Find your flow with a little help from your tribe.
